Gerald Obuseh

Software Engineer

I design and engineer high-performance systems where clarity, speed, and intent compound.

A little context: most people know me as Geraldinho.

I focus on getting a little better every day.

Computer Science and Mathematics at Texas State University. I engineer systems where code, data, and mathematical reasoning intersect. My focus is performance, correctness, and building things that hold up under scale.

About Me

Gerald Obuseh

I'm originally from Delta State, Nigeria, and currently studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Texas State University, where I focus on building strong technical foundations with real world leverage.

My path into technology started with curiosity about how systems behave under pressure and how thoughtful design can make them resilient.

Outside of coding, I enjoy playing soccer, a discipline I've practiced since early childhood in Nigeria. Playing has shaped how I think about positioning, timing, and decision-making under pressure. I also enjoy competitive, systems driven games such as EAFC and Mortal Kombat, which reward pattern recognition and precise execution.

Visiting Undergraduate (2021-2022)

Professional Experience

Software Engineering Intern

JPMorgan Chase, US Private Bank

Summer 2026

Incoming Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2026, joining a team where reliability, performance, and precision matter at scale.

Engineering Student Assistant

Bruce and Ingram School of Engineering, Texas State University

September 2025 - Present

Design and automate 3D printer workflows using embedded C++ on Raspberry Pi, cutting manual intervention and improving throughput. Operate close to hardware, optimized constrained systems, and shipped tooling that actually gets used.

Software Engineering Intern

Paystrait, Nigeria

May 2025 - August 2025

Refactored and stabilized the admin dashboard using TypeScript and Node.js, improving how user accounts and transactions are managed. Focused on clarity, maintainability, and building interfaces that don’t break under real usage.

Client Manager

Student Union, Truman State University

August 2023 - May 2025

Managed client relationships and ensured timely delivery of services.

Computer Vision Research Intern

School of Industrial Engineering, Purdue University

May 2023 - August 2023

Developed a computer vision system using Python and OpenCV to identify unsafe conditions and reduce workplace injury risk. Translated research objectives into working code and validated results with real data.

Selected Projects

International Girls Academy LMS

Developed a Learning Management System for the International Girls Academy during JPMC’s Code for Good Hackathon, leveraging Flask and Node.js for backend services, React for the frontend, and Clerk for secure authentication.

TickerStats

Built a real-time financial analytics web application to surface actionable statistics and market insights across multiple financial instruments, leveraging a React frontend, a Flask-based backend, and MongoDB for scalable data persistence.

EaseAccess

Developed a web application to help users find the best accessible routes to their destinations using Gemini API, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

LiveWeather

Developed a weather app using React, Node.js, and OpenWeatherMap API.
